Director Peter Black Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) and Graduate Diploma in Management. He commenced as an Assistant Area Engineer in Beenleigh, Beaudesert, Barcaldine and Rockhampton, leading to Area Manager for Gladstone, then Area Manager for Gladstone/Biloela Area then Strategic Planning Engineer in Rockhampton. Peter worked for 14 years in the Queensland electricity supply industry in the South East Queensland electricity Board and the Capricornia Electricity Board in Central Queensland (now Ergon Energy). His work included engineering design, construction and operation of power lines, and staff supervision including engineers, supervisors, and design, field, stores and administrative officers. Peter moved in 1991 to the sea port industry as Chief Executive Officer of Rockhampton Port Authority, which managed Port Alma in Central Queensland near Rockhampton. | RPA was a stand alone organisation, requiring skills in all management functions, including trade development, port operations, project management, finance, administration, human resources, environment and risk Peter led the Port Authority to merge with Gladstone Port Authority in 2004 to provide access to resources for Port Alma’s development. From 2004 to 2006, Peter enjoyed a break, spending time with his family and working on private investments. From 2006 to 2007 Peter was the Chief Executive Officer of the Rockhampton District Saleyards Board, which managed Gracemere Saleyards near Rockhampton. He led the organisation to consider sale of the asset, and installed financial and operational stability. From 2007 to 2008 Peter was an Authorised ActionCoach Business Coach, coaching a range of clients in various aspects of business. Since May 2008 Peter has operated a consultancy business covering management consultancy, systems development, business solutions and career development. |
